Frequently Asked Questions
Taking the first step towards support can feel overwhelming, and it's completely natural to have questions. I've created this page to provide answers to some of the most common questions I am asked about counselling and the services available through The Loss Lounge.
Whether you're considering counselling for the first time, exploring the different support options available, or simply looking for more information, I hope you'll find the answers here helpful and reassuring.
My aim is to make accessing support feel as straightforward and comfortable as possible, so you can make an informed choice about what feels right for you.
If you can't find the answer you're looking for, please don't hesitate to get in touch. I'm always happy to answer any questions and help you explore the support options available.
Your healing. Your pace. Your choice. 💛
What can I expect from counselling?
Taking the first step towards counselling can feel daunting, especially if you have never spoken to a counsellor before. At The Loss Lounge, I offer a warm, compassionate and non-judgemental space where you can talk openly about whatever is troubling you.
Counselling is your time. There is no pressure to talk about anything before you feel ready, and there is no expectation for you to have all the answers. Together, we will explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
Many women come to counselling seeking support with loss, bereavement, domestic abuse, difficult relationships, anxiety, low self-esteem, or significant life changes. Whatever brings you here, my role is to listen, support and help you make sense of your experiences in a safe and confidential environment.
Most importantly, counselling is about providing a space where you feel heard, understood and supported as you navigate your own journey towards healing.

How do I know which support option is right for me?
There is no right or wrong place to start.
Whether you're looking for a gentle introduction through Loss Lounge Connect, regular therapeutic support through Healing or Thrive, or the flexibility of Individual Counselling, you can choose the option that feels most comfortable for you.
If you're unsure, I offer a complimentary consultation where we can discuss your needs and explore the support options available to help you decide what feels right for you.
